Meet the ‘bots

If you’re not already sharing work with bots and artificial intelligence, you soon will be, according to a recent article in Forbes:

“Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is today one of the fastest growing sectors of business technology, yet one which is often misunderstood…RPA is indeed something entirely new, and as part of a broader strategy for workflow technology, can enable levels of efficiency and digitalization previously out of reach.  RPA is one of the four essential pillars of Intelligent Automation.”

We define those four essential pillars as Strategy, Technology & Data, People & Processes, and Governance.

Zero-in on Paperless Productivity

Zero-in on Paperless Productivity | 5 minute read

Many companies generate hundreds of thousands, in some cases millions of documents. While some of these documents may be born digital and stay digital for their lifetime, the fact is that many get printed out onto paper at some point in their lives.  While we advocate for digital documents and paperless offices, sometimes a hard copy makes more sense. For instance, I find that sometimes a large, complicated document is just easier to read and make notes on in its printed form.   Most of the time it’s easier to share a printed document when sharing information with a large group of people in a meeting.

Maximize Your Workflow with Electronic Content Management

Maximize Your Workflow with Electronic Content Management

Background

The Business Dictionary defines workflow as a “progression of steps (tasks, events, interactions) that comprise a work process, involve two or more persons, and create or add value to the organization's activities. In a sequential workflow, each step is dependent on (the) occurrence of the previous step; in a parallel workflow, two or more steps can occur concurrently.

Success Agency says that poor or inefficient workflow causes…missed deadlines, low morale, angry customers, lost revenue and regulatory issues. Business Processes make up your workflow and determine whether…your workflow is efficient.

Wikipedia defines Business Processes as a collection of related, structured activities or tasks by people …which in a specific sequence…serves a particular business goal for a particular customer or customers. Business processes occur at all organizational levels and may or may not be visible to the customers.

Capture, Manage, Route & Automate Business Information | 5 minute read

Introduction

The amount of information businesses must process continues to increase.  Workers everywhere need a fast, effective way to capture the important information they need to do their jobs, regardless of the informational format (email, snail-mail, electronic, etc.).  Once the information is captured, workers, and the organization as a whole, must be able to manage the data safely and efficiently.  The importance of ensuring that the right data is routed to the right person at the right time cannot be underestimated.

How would your organization improve if you could capture and extract the data you need, then route it automatically where it needs to go, when it needs to be there?  How about using integration and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools to improve your business processes?  Today’s technologies enable all this and more, maximizing the productivity of your entire organization.  Executives should take heed!

Robotic Process Automation for Business

Robotic Process Automation for Business

Sometime over the past couple of years, what used to be called Business Process Automation (BPA has morphed into Robotic Process Automation (RPA).  So, just what's the difference between the two?

BPA includes technologies such as imaging (scanning applications that help convert paper documents into digital files) and workflow (automatically routing documents from one step to another in a business process).  Sometimes BPA includes integration of tasks between applications, requiring the assistance of a programmer.

The global market for RPA technologies will reach $8.75 billion by 2024.

10 Top Reasons for Document Scanning (in the new economy)

Document scanning and use of digital documents is more important than ever.  As the economy continues to improve and businesses grow, the labor market tightens.  Growth and change mean more paper coming in and out of your company; more data to track.  But the tight labor market means fewer available employees to do the work.

Digital document management, workflow automation and cloud access to information and data make it possible to be more productive without adding new hires.

If you’ve been procrastinating on going digital, now is the time to make your move.  Position your company to reap the benefits of the new economy.  Going from paper to digital brings these benefits:
